I have a 3-month old girl. We have been using Bummis prefolds (infant size) & Bummis covers (SWW & SBrites) since she was 6-weeks old.
Normally, I fold the diapers like this: http://diaperpages.com/angel_fold.php (also: http://www.thediaperhyena.com/reverse_newspaperfold.htm), and fasten with a Snappi. My little girl is near 15 lb, so I don’t really have ay extra diaper length to fold over at the front or back (like the examples in the links). I never have any leaks when I fold the diaper like this.
I have tried folding the prefold like in your picture above, but I always get leaks out the back (she has been lying down each time). I can’t figure out why. My diapers absorb well…I make sure there is no prefold sticking out the back…I just can’t figure it out. Any suggestions? I would like to not have to have a Snappi around all the time.
If your prefold is really soaked at the back, perhaps the moisture is creeping through.
Can you tri-fold the prefold length-wise to maximize on the number of layers at the back? Or add a doubler?
Good luck and let me know if you need any other suggestions.
